This ferroalloy is actually a combination of ferromanganese and ferrosilicon. The production process of this element is more challenging than that of ferromanganese due to the presence of silicon in its composition. This material is produced at a higher temperature compared to ferromanganese, using the slag obtained from the production process of high-carbon ferromanganese. This slag contains approximately 40% manganese oxide and is considered a manganese-based material. It is used to produce silicon in combination with silicon-based materials such as quartz or sand. The quartz and manganese in the slag need to be regenerated. For the regeneration of these materials, a carbon-based material like coke is used.
